I've installed over 1200 Supergourd Purple Martin Housing Systems in the last 3 years and have found that using the SongBird Magnet speeds up the colonization process dramatically. There were even some installations where, after plugging in the Magnet, Purple Martins started flying in from out of nowhere and immediately landed on the Martin Housing System. The unit's sound quality is superb and it being totally automatic is a bonus.
