(More customer reviews)This is one loud, buzzing, churning refrigerator. Whirlpool/Amana did a nice job configuring the shelves -- especially the door shelves, which are generously sized and adjustable. But this unit rivals a dishwasher with regard to the noise.
A sheet metal panel in the back of the freezer naturally buzzes and vibrates due to its design, and the compressor itself is very audible after one day of constant use. Obviously it's new so I can't comment on durability, but it doesn't seem as though anyone tested it before it was shipped.
The price on Amazon looks good. I paid slightly more from Home Depot, although installation was included in the cost. However now I'm faced with the hassle of getting it replaced or repaired.
I'm surprised that refrigerators aren't better designed and built after decades of refinement. If I had it to do over again, I would choose a different model.
